Some Pictures…

November 11, 2012 Leave a comment

Well I have not posted much as of late so I thought I would just post some photos that I have been able to take over the last few days.

Being that today is November 11th I will start with a photo I took this morning of my local cenotaph; Lest We Forget.

My family got looked at a little funny as we stopped what we were doing to observe the minute of silence at 11am. Rather sad how many people around us could not even show that level of respect for all those who served their country throughout history and those fighting currently. The kids didn’t fully understand it but they did very well for their age to keep still and quiet.

Now onto some general photos:

Enjoy the pics…

So enough for now…as some other sparkly has my attention…till next time…OH SO SHINY…

Next in the Series: BF109-G. Image is 11″ X 15″ on Stonehenge Paper 250Gsm – White. Coloured with PrismaColor Premier Pencil Crayons. I sure hope these scan better when I take them in. Photo’s are really not getting the colours and details right. At least this is a change from the other posts…LOL!

Final rendition P51 Mustang Pin-Up…

Next in the Series: P51 Mustang. Image is 11″ X 15″ on Stonehenge Paper 250Gsm – White. Coloured with PrismaColor Premier Pencil Crayons. I seem to be getting a bit quicker and a bit smoother the more drawing I do. Colouring is getting easier as well. Reference photo had the red part of outfit originally as a plaid but I could not maintain a small enough tip on the pencil crayon to duplicate properly.

So enough for now…as some other sparkly has my attention…till next time…OH SO SHINY…

So here is the final rendition of the P38 Lightning and Pin-up drawing, hope to get a scan of the image later, but it is just a bit to big for my scanner so I will have to get it done locally. Image is 11″ X 15″ on Stonehenge Paper 250Gsm – White. Coloured with PrismaColor Premier Pencil Crayons.

P51 Mustang picture is next on the drawing board for colouring.

So enough for now…as some other sparkly has my attention…till next time…OH SO SHINY…

Bouncing around like a caffeinated 3 year old…

So I have been doing some drawing on the side again.  Really been enjoying it too. It is taking a bit to get back into the full swing of drawing again but its getting there slowly. I’m sure my DW is wondering about the subject matter, but since people have always been an issue for me I thought it might work as a good way to get better. Basically working on the theme of Pin-Ups and Famous Planes from WWII. So far have two somewhat completed (see images below), but I have to wait till after Christmas to colour them as my new art supplies are a gift under the tree. I have been bending the virtual ears of a few online artists who’s talents I admire and whom I follow on twitter; and they have been kind enough to give me feedback on the current images and some preliminary drawings. Will see if I destroy the drawings when I attempt to colour them later.

But here is where the caffeinated 3 year old hits the stage; I now have the means to start a larger picture that has been on hold for a while. Add in the fact that I now have multiple drawing boards, I will have two different projects on the go here soon and no real place to store them. Soon the question will not be to draw, but which project to draw. I don’t know if working on both at the same time will affect my drawings as the style & subject matter will greatly vary between the two projects. Debating to hold off and finish the one larger project and come back to the pin-ups or do both at the same time. Ah well guess we will just have to wait and see what happens from here…let me know what you think of the current drawings.

So enough for now…as some other sparkly has my attention…till next time…OH SO SHINY…
